There are so many faces of depression, Kurt Cobain is such a great example. He had everything going for him: a beautiful baby & wife and the career of his dreams. Regardless, he still was depressed and eventually committed suicide. Just because everything seems fine on the exterior, doesn’t mean it is. We need to keep amazing people like Kurt in this world. Depression is hard, but it can be a lot easier if we are aware of it. Reblog to raise awareness of depression <3

ME: Heeeeeyyyy!!!!
MIKE: Well, look who it is! haven’t seen you in a year!!
ME: Good to see you too.
MIKE: Looking to get something done?
ME: Yep.. thats why i’m here
MIKE: Smart ass! What do you want to get done now?
ME: A tattoo *smile*
MIKE: You don’t say! (i handed him my t-shirt) Well, this is nice. I really like it. Did you want to get the signatures too?
ME: Yes, I’d really like that..AND!!! I want the image to be on the opposite side..
MIKE: like backwards?
ME: YES!
MIKE: But that would be weird. the image won’t make sence. Its going to be..backwards.
ME: I am aware of that. That is how I want it.
MIKE but then the signatures would be backwards.It would be like a kindergarden wrote on you.
ME: *laugh* Yes, I Know. Thats how I want it. If I explained to you why I want it that way, you wouldn’t understand.
MIKE: I want to understand, youre creeping me out. why want somethng opposite of what it is? Who are these guys anyway?
ME: THESE guys, are my favorite band! I love them! They make everything perfect! THEY MAKE ME HAPPY!! EXTREMELY HAPPY!! Which is the OPPOSITE of SAD. For the last 5 years, I’ve been nothing but depressed. Feeling like life isn’t worth living. Thinking of a way to end it all. Then THEY came along. 17,18 year olds, they were babies when their music reached me. Thats where the backward handwriting comes in. Anyway,THEY have changed me, for the better. I no longer feel worthless. I know that in the most terrible situation, EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY. IT IS BECAUSE OF THEM THAT I am ME. I AM HAPPY. The OPPOSITE of what i felt before.. Its a reminder to ME that growing up may not be as wonderful as you hoped it would be, things are sometimes OPPOSITE of what you wanted. ITmay not make sence to you, but it does to me. I understand myself. That is all that matters.
MIKE: Um..thats great, i get it. I have my favorite band tattood on me too but i still think its a bad idea. it will not look good.
ME: ugh! You know nothing! Now, Mike. Will you do this for me, or am i going to have to go and find me another tattoo artist?
MIKE: No, i mean yes, I’ll do it. I’ll do what you ask, just give me a few minutes to get everything ready.

- so anyway, i got my tattoo done. and i love it. and yes, its backwards, but when i look at in the mirror, it makes perfect sence.
